EASTERN COUNTIES REGIONAL LIBRARY BOARD
                         CHIEF LIBRARIAN (C.E.O.)

This public library system headquartered in Mulgrave, NS serves approx. 41,000 residents of Guysborough, Inverness and Richmond Counties (in Northeastern Nova Scotia)  through 7 branches and various outreach services.

The CEO heads a management team of four. Staff complement is 9 F/T and 26 P/T employees.  Annual budget: $908,415 (2005-06).  The Library works with Nova Scotia Provincial Library and other Regional Libraries in the NcompasS (Sirsi) library system on many co-operative projects.
 
Qualifications include an accredited MLS/MLIS degree and minimum 5 years experience in progressive positions, preferably in public libraries.  Salary range is $46,025 to $55,944 (05-06) with competitive benefits. 

Candidates with significant experience in strategic planning, regional library development and fund sourcing are preferred.  Applicants must have demonstrated leadership, personnel / budget management and communication skills. French fluency is an asset.
