Hi everyone, the Federation of Nova Scotia Heritage has asked if I wouldn't mind posting this workshop to my librarian contacts. The Federation of NS Heritage in partnership with Canadian Heritage Information Network is pleased to offer: Digitizing Images for Your Museum Presenter: Diane Bowden, Systems analyst, Content Management and Capacity Building, Canadian Heritage Information Management Date: April 21, 2006 Time: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Cost: Member: $25.00 Non-member: $50.00 Location: Whitney Pier Museum, Sydney, NS Registration Deadline: Monday April 10, 2006 For those embarking on a digitization project, and especially for those on the Passage Project, this workshop will give you answers for those questions you ask, “Why digitize? What does it involve? What are the costs? What lessons have others learned? Where do I begin to digitize my collection?” Dianne Bowden, CHIN, will present a full-day workshop to answer your questions and more on digitization. You will also learn to: v Determine your digitizing options v Consider different uses for images v Assess the implications for future cataloguing. Each participating site will receive a digitization kit of background fabric in two colours and a measuring scale. (Value: $40.00)> Space is limited to 20 participants so register early!
