The University of Prince Edward Island invites applications and nominations for
a University Librarian.
The University Librarian leads a 25-person team of professional librarians and
support staff, and as a UPEI senior manager shares in leadership of a university
that is "on the rise". As UPEI’s intellectual and learning crossroads, the
Robertson Library serves almost 400 full-time and part-time faculty members,
4,000 full-time & part-time students, and the broader information community of
Prince Edward Island. UPEI has experienced a dramatic development of
research intensity, and for three years has been rated among the top
undergraduate universities in Canada for research productivity. UPEI’s award-
winning faculty and students enjoy a special teaching and learning environment;
UPEI professors have won the national 3M teaching fellowship in four of the
past five years and UPEI students rank first among primarily undergraduate
universities for winning national awards. The newly established Webster Centre
for Teaching and Learning, located in the Robertson Library, offers a rich array
of programs emphasizing student success. The University Librarian will play a
central leadership role in a dynamic learning and research environment.

The successful candidate will have: a demonstrated record of teaching,
management skills and leadership in an academic library setting and an
established record of the contributions to the discipline of academic
librarianship.
