Hello everyone:

As you may be aware from our website and from other messages from us this
fall, Dalhousie's MLIS programme intensive seven-year accreditation review
is taking place this fall. The External Review Panel is visiting us from
20-23 October
(http://sim.management.dal.ca/temp/External_Review_Pane.php). One of the
planned events, to assist Panel members in assessing the success of our
graduates, is a dinner with employers of our graduates.

This message is to confirm the arrangements that we have made over the past
two months with many of you, and to extend the invitation to others who may
be able to join us for the event described here.

MLIS programme 'employers' dinner
Friday 21st October, 6.30 p.m. for 7.00 p.m.
Great Hall, University Club, Dalhousie University
[There is no charge, attendees will be our guests]

The Panel looks forward to meeting with you and to hearing your views of
graduates' contributions to your institutions and other issues.

Many of the employers of our graduates are also alumni of our
programme. However, employers who are not alumni of Dalhousie are equally
welcome to attend this dinner!

If you are able to attend, would you please respond by Tuesday 18th October
to Shanna, at [log in to unmask]
If you have any questions about the event, or about the accreditation
review process, please contact me by email or by phone.

For those of you interested in reading our Programme Presentation report to
the ALA Committee on Accreditation, we shall be making the report available
via the School's website after the intensive review process is complete.
The Chair of the Associated Alumni has a printed copy of the document
already, and she will be attending the dinner, with several other members
of the Associated Alumni Executive.

With all best wishes,
Fiona Black
