Evidence-Based Librarianship: An Introduction


ELLEN CRUMLEY, HealthInfo & Searching Practice, Inc.

Based upon the presentation made at the Saskatchewan Library Association
in May 2004, this session will offer an overview of the development of
Evidence-Based Librarianship (EBL). Presentations made at the 2003 EBL
conference are incorporated (with permission) in order to give an
international, more rounded perspective about EBL.

 Librarians interested in learning about research or who are conducting
research. Any librarians interested in learning more about EBL. All
librarians are welcome.

FEES

 Member: $48.00 + GST
 Non-Member $68.00 + GST
 No limit on listeners per location. Includes all bridging and long
distance costs.

 Presenter:

Ellen Crumley contributed three chapters to the 2004 Evidence-Based
Practice for Information Professionals handbook and has written several
articles about EBL in local and national journals. She is a Senior
Member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals. Ellen was the
Co-chair for the 2003 EBL conference in Edmonton and is a current member
of the Program Committee for the October 2005 Evidence based
Librarianship Conference in Australia. She started HealthInfo &
Searching Practice Inc. (www.hisp.ca) in September 2004 after
recognizing the need for consultant health sciences librarians.
