Staff Planning During a Time of Demographic Turmoil

Instructor: Vicki Whitmell, Whitmell and Associates.

What impact will the retirement of baby boomers be on your library? How
can you get boomers and Xers to work together? How will staff planning
help to ensure that your library will have the skilled and trained
people it needs when it needs them? What are your responsibilities as an
organization and as an individual for succession and staff planning?
Vicki Whitmell, editor of an upcoming book on succession and staff
planning, recently completed a country-wide project on staff and
succession planning in Australia. Hear her discuss best practices and
practical strategies that can ensure that your library is prepared to
meet the upcoming renewal and change of the workforce.
