Are you an aspiring or seasoned researcher looking for funding to begin
a research endeavour or supplement a current project?  Do you dream of a
professional development opportunity but need funding to make it happen?


This year's APLA Memorial Award committee invites members to think about
how a successful application(s) could contribute to the professional
development of your career and benefit the library profession as a
whole.  Up to $1,000 will be awarded.      

Some examples of recently funded APLA Memorial Award projects include:  

-investigating the attitudes and teaching methods of academic
instruction librarians in the Atlantic region 
-surveying the continuing education needs and practices of library
workers 
-researching information for a publication on the history of literary
awards in Canada 
-participating in the Library of Congress Serials Cataloguing
Cooperative Training Program 
 
Interested applicants please send a letter outlining your proposal, a
current curriculum vitae, and estimated costs of your project by March
15, 2005 to:
