for Academic Libraries*
Whether you are a director in the administration offices, a manager

this practical pre-conference workshop is of interest to everyone
contemplating the idea of establishing (or enhancing) a program of
continuous assessment. Through presentation, discussion, small group
activities and using the 2004 ACRL "Standards for Libraries in Higher
Education," participants will apply the principles of assessment and the
techniques presented to their own library's mission and goals. While
the context for this workshop is academic libraries, the process is
applicable across multiple library sectors. By the end of the day, you
will have an understanding of how to apply the principles and techniques
to your own library setting and be well on your way to establishing the
basic framework for developing assessment plans based upon professional
standards and your
institution's mission.
