The Nova Scotia Provincial Library will be hosting a broadcast of the
OLA Audio Conference "Library Marketing That Works" with instructor
Suzanne Walters, author of the book of the same title and Director of
Marketing and Development, Denver Public Library. Libraries
everywhere
are facing budget cuts, staff cut-backs and political challenges
within
their environment. "Library Marketing That Works" was developed to
meet the needs of librarians and administrators everywhere to provide
them with information and tools for marketing the library using
advocacy, programming, fund raising, partnering, public relations,
community building, advertising and more. This sixty minute session
will be of interest to library directors, administrators, public
librarians, school librarians, university librarians, and library
board
members.

KEY TOPICS EXPLORED DURING THE SESSION

Marketing concepts and the marketing planning process applied to
libraries. The six P's of marketing (product, place, price and

Everyone plays a role in the marketing process, as evident in customer
