Cataloguing Electronic Resources This workshop will examine the use of AACR2 to create catalogue records for electronic and web-based records via the use of demonstrations and hands-on exercises. Date: Saturday, November 6, 2004 Time: 10 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Place: SLIS Computer Lab, 3rd floor, Killam Library, Dalhousie University Fee: $60 including taxes ($50 for second and subsequent participants from the same institution); $15 for students; $10 for SLIS students Instructor: Louise Spiteri, BA, MA, BEd, MLIS, PhD is an Associate Professor at the School of Library and Information Studies, Dalhousie University. Dr. Spiteri teaches courses in cataloguing, classification, indexing, abstracting, and records management. Her research interests focus upon faceted classification systems, and the construction and evaluation of information-retrieval thesauri. Dr. Spiteri has presented lectures, workshops, and scholarly presentations in Canada and the United States. Prior to her present position, Dr. Spiteri taught at the Library Technician programme at Seneca College, Toronto. Dr. Spiteri worked previously as cataloguer for the United Way of Greater Toronto.
