Dear Members of the Library/Information Management Community:

You are cordially invited to attend a thought provoking panel discussion
on the topic of "Opportunities and Challenges for 21st Century
Library/Information Management Associations".  Please join us on
Tuesday, March 16th, 2004 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Dalhousie's Great
Hall, University Club to hear a panel of library/information management
leaders address the current challenges/opportunities facing
associations, succession planning in associations, continuing education
for library and information management workers, the preservation and
dissemination of the scholarly record and the need for associations in
today's information-based climate.  The panelists are:

        *       Sandy Cook - Director, Canadian Association of Special
Libraries and Information Services (CASLIS)
        *       Marie DeYoung - Chair, Canadian Technical and College
Libraries (CTCL)
        *       Madeleine Lefebvre - President Canadian Library
Association (CLA)
        *       Penny Logan - Vice-President, Canadian Health Libraries
Association (CHLA)
        *       William Maes - Past President, Canadian Association of
Research Libraries (CARL)

The panel discussion will be approximately one hour followed by a
reception to celebrate and acknowledge the panelists' contribution to
the library and information management profession.  A cash bar will be
available.

All library/information workers/students are welcome to attend this
