UCCB invites applications for a full-time continuing Digital Reference Librarian position to commence May 1, 2004 or as soon as possible thereafter. Reporting to the Director of Library Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the Library's website; for planning and promoting the effective use of information technologies, including virtual reference services and online tutorials; and for the creation, control and delivery of digital information resources, including automated records management. The successful candidate will also provide general reference and instructional services to students, faculty, staff and the general public, participating in all aspects of general reference services, including instructional services; electronic reference services and regular reference desk schedule including one evening shift per week and one Saturday shift per month; have collection responsibilities; and other related duties as required, including collection development. Candidates must have a MLS from an ALA-accredited program; expert-level knowledge and experience with electronic information technology; excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
