Program Title: Library Disaster Planning in a Nutshell Date: Wednesday, February 4, 2004
Time: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Location: Room B256 The Library, Nova Scotia Community College, Institute of Technology Campus, 5685 Leeds Street, Halifax.(near the north end of Robie Street).

Description: This workshop will address the concept of planning for a disaster and will briefly outline what needs to be done in order to be prepared in the event of an emergency. You will learn disaster prevention tips as well as how to create your own disaster kit. A fun group exercise will be carried out and a question and answer period will finish the session. Workshop facilitator Paula French received her professional accreditation with the Canadian Association of Professional Conservators in 2001. Paula works as a conservator in private practice. Her business, “Heritage Solutions” serves both individual and institutional clients. Some institutional clients have included : the Nova Scotia Museum, Parks Canada and the Dalhousie University Archives.

Registration: Participation in the workshop is open to HLA members and non-members. Please pre-register with Margie Walser by emailing her at [log in to unmask] . Space is limited to 20 participants.

Cost: Free to HLA members. Non-members may register but are required to purchase an HLA membership during the evening. ($5 students, $10 individual)
