The Cumberland Regional Library serves rural, northwestern Nova Scotia through 7 branch libraries and books by mail service. Headquarters is located in Amherst, Nova Scotia on the NS/NB border. The new headquarters office is located on the top floor of the Amherst Library. Amherst is 2 hours from Halifax and 35 minutes from Moncton, NB. Requirements: A Masters Degree in Library and Information Studies from an ALA accredited library school. Must have a strong working knowledge of automated library systems and LAN maintenance, experience creating webpages, experience in computer repair and maintenance, and experience training others to use computer hardware and software. Must have a valid driver's license and own vehicle preferred. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the library's LAN, tendering and ordering new automation equipment, installing and maintaining computer equipment in headquarters and 7 branch libraries, and troubleshooting hardware and software problems. You will be responsible for setting up the library's web server and maintaining the library's webpage, offer training sessions to both staff and the public on various types of hardware and software, work assigned shifts on the circulation/reference desk of the Amherst branch, do branch deliveries, and participate in collection development. Includes evening and weekend work. Salary: This position is expected to be filled at the Librarian I level. Salary range: $27,000 - $30,420. Health & dental plan available as well as an RRSP program.
