UCCB invites applications for a full-time continuing Director of Library Services position to commence July 1, 2003. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the planning, implementation and evaluation of the services and programs provided by the University College Library. The Director will provide academic and administrative leadership, expertise and vision for the University College Library. Candidates must have professional training as a librarian, as demonstrated by an ALA-accredited MLS degree, substantial experience in a college or university library, or a demonstrated equivalent of training and experience. As well, candidates should have administrative experience in a library, preferably at the level of director or head librarian; knowledge of appropriate resources - printed and electronic; ability to coordinate the integration of current technologies into the existing array of library services; ability to lead a library successfully through changing work environments; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; passion for developing, cultivating, providing access to and preserving a primarily undergraduate collection; and desire and ability to share in the educational mission and strategic planning of UCCB.
