PLEASE POST Advertisement Chair, Department of Philosophy College of Arts University of Guelph The University of Guelph invites applications and nominations for the position of Chair of the Department of Philosophy. The appointment will be made at the level of Professor and will be available commencing July 1, 2003. Candidates should have an excellent research and teaching record and proven administrative experience. The Department has strong B.A. and M.A. programs and a longstanding joint Ph.D. program with McMaster and Wilfrid Laurier Universities. The Department has a strong commitment to research and strength in analytical, continental, historical and contemporary philosophy and encourages candidates whose research complements or integrates these strengths. In 2003 the department will have 17 faculty members, two support staff members, approximately 30 graduate students, 140 undergraduate majors, and 2500 undergraduate course enrolments. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
