I'd like to draw our members attention to the following vacancy:

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT -- Women's Studies, California State University, Fresno
Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, 2003-2004.  This is a dynamic program which currently offers a Major and Minor, and participates in a number of certificate programs. Teaching load at CSUF is 12 units per semester.  The successful candidates will be prepared to teach two or more of the following General Education courses: Introduction to Women's Studies; Women of Color in the U.S.; Critical thinking and Gender; Diversity in the U.S.; Women in History; Women and Aging; Representations of Women.  Specific assignments are dependent on departmental needs. The program is particularly interested in applicants with expertise in at least one of the following:  feminist cultural studies; feminist art and art history; multicultural education, feminist critiques of science; bodies and health; peace and conflict studies; globalization and feminist economics; or lesbian, gay, or queer studies.  Academic field is open with preference given to candidates whose expertise complements the disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary expertise of the department.  Applicants must have Ph.D. completed at the time of application. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to, or potential for, teaching excellence at the university level and scholarly activity that can lead to publication, conference participation, and creative community involvement.  Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience, particularly in General Education and/or interdisciplinary courses. The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
