Forwarded From: Brenda Bentley <[log in to unmask]> Saint Mary’s University, Patrick Power Library PROMOTIONAL SERVICES LIBRARIAN Regular, Full-Time Position Saint Mary’s University – Patrick Power Library seeks candidates for the position of Promotional Services Librarian. The successful candidate will report to the University Librarian within a collegial working environment. The candidate will be primarily responsible, in collaboration with other librarians, for marketing and promoting the Library’s services to user groups including faculty, university staff, as well as local and distance education students. Responsibilities include the production of promotional material, development and maintenance of the Library’s web presence, and ongoing individual and group communication with library users, actual and potential. The successful candidate will also take responsibility for assessing and evaluating user needs, user knowledge, and utilization of Library collections and services. Additional duties will include: - Responsibility for coordinating portions of the Library’s growing electronic collections, and other assigned areas of collection responsibility, as part of the Library’s collection development team. - Information literacy instruction, including one-on-one library resource instruction, preparation of instructional materials, and classroom instruction, as part of the Library’s information literacy team. - Reference and research duties, as a member of the Library’s broadly based reference team. A Master’s degree from an accredited school of library or information science is required, with at least three years of experience in an academic library environment or equivalent. Additional requirements include a demonstrated skills in publication and web design and authoring, and knowledge of research and assessment methods. The successful candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills and will demonstrate a commitment to work cooperatively to provide quality library service.
