INFORMATION CENTER SPECIALIST I

Competition # 02-04-07 ONE YEAR ONLY Temporary Term
The Information Center Specialist will be responsible for organizing,
planning and managing the School Information Centres within designated
schools. A job description is available on the website.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of Library Science from an accredited library school, a BLS and
three years professional experience or equivalent. [This does not preclude
the employer from determining that other combinations of education and/or
experience are equivalent.]
In addition, the employer will select the most qualified candidate as per
the requirements of the collective agreement, which set out that
"*selection shall be made upon the objective criteria of experience, job
performance, ability, qualification and attitude". Applicants who are to
be interviewed will be provided a full job description prior to the
interview process.
Salary: As per NSGEU Contract
Start Date: Immediately
Closing Date: 12:00 Noon, Monday, September 9, 2002

The Information Center Specialist II will be responsible for providing
clerical and technical duties associated with the provision of
circulation, catalogue and references services to a School Library
Information Centre in accordance with regional policies and procedures. A

library technician certification from a recognized training program or
