Hello everyone! As our upcoming APLA OGM
approaches (scheduled for Thursday, June 20 at 3:15) I'll resend the following
message regarding the Government Documents Interest Group.
To date, one of our members has
shown interest in convening the group - unfortunately we're short by two
the minimum number required for establishing an interest
group.
If you're interested in this group, please
read the following message and contact me! Thank you!

Subject: Government Documents Interest Group
As you know, many changes have occurred in the
publishing practices of our governments. Each year more documents are published
solely on the Internet. It may benefit you to communicate with your colleagues
as you grapple with disseminating this valuable information.
APLA has been approached to have an
Interest Group founded whose focus would be - Government Documents. In
order to establish an interest group within APLA, a minimum of six people
must make up the group membership. As well, one of the members must be
willing to convene the group.
Visit APLA's homepage at www.apla.ca and to
APLA Organizational Documents; APLA
Procedures Manual; Procedures Manual - Part 2 "Guidelines for Committee
& Interest Groups" to find information about committees and interest groups,
as well as the responsibilities of a convenor.
If you have interest in joining a Government
Documents Interest Group please email me at [log in to unmask]. With
sufficient interest, the group could be established during our upcoming meetings
taking place during the CLA/APLA joint conference. I look forward to
hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Cathy Chisholm
