The Education Commitee of CALL/ACBD (0100,0100,0100the Canadian
Association of Law Libraries/l'Association canadienne des
bibliothèques de droit) presents the following continuing education
opportunity:
Sue Beugin, Calgary-based consultant in legal information,
presents:
Court Decisions: Efficient Access
Locaton: Nova Scotia Barristers' Society
Halifax, NS
Tuesday, June 25 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The focus of the workshop will be researching the Canadian
English language decisions of the regular court systems. The
emphasis will be on strategies - on what choices need to be made
in choosing individual media, what assessments have to be made,
what overall consideration must be factored in - to make research
efficient and effective.
Part of the program will be an interactive session where
participants will work together on research strategies for practical
questions representing various types of research problems: i.e.
noting up, headnote searching, digest searching, etc. The
workshop will concentrate, although not exclusively, on electronic
sources.
Those who have attended previous workshops in Vancouver and
Calgary have spoken highly of the usefulness of
the content and the effectiveness of Sue's presentation.
Registration closes very soon, so check this site for the
