Surviving the World Wide Web! Using the WWW as a Reference Tool Facilitator: Debbie Costelo Location: N.S. Provincial Library, 3770 Kempt Rd., Halifax, NS Date: Saturday, May 11, 2002 Time: 9:00 a.m. - Noon Description: The World Wide Web is a powerful reference tool where the use of images, sound, video, file transportation and text are all integrated into a single information medium. Debbie makes this a fun and lively workshop by breaking the group into "tribes" with "reward challenges" awarded to various participants and culminating in a final challenge between the tribe members. This workshop is targeted to individuals who are comfortable in a web environment would like to learn more effective searching methods when employing web search tools.
