REGIONAL LIBRARIAN (Continuing, Full-time Position) (Commencing approximately June 1, 2001) Truro Campus - Truro, NS Competition No. 2001-111 OUR OPPORTUNITY: You will have the overall accountability for the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of Libraries at the Truro, Cumberland and Pictou campuses. You will work closely with faculty to identify, plan and where required, implement methods of integrating Learning Resource Services into campus programs to maximize added value. You will also evaluate the information needs of students and faculty, plan programs and services that address them and monitor quality of service. You will as well, conduct formal and informal user education sessions with students, faculty and staff. You will develop a resource collection suitable for campus requirements, promote the benefits of information literacy and provide reference assistance. YOUR CREDENTIALS: You have a Master of Library Science/Information Science from an ALA accredited university, and a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a public services function, with a significant proportion of that experience involved in an academic environment. You have a broad understanding of the variety of information resources and bibliographic instruction concepts and techniques. You possess significant computer literacy and have the ability to interact effectively with all levels of College students, faculty and staff.
