> Supervises professional and support staff. Participates in library-wide
> planning and serves on library-wide committees, task forces, and teams.
> Ensures that the department is an active participant in Triangle
> Research Libraries Network (TRLN) activities.  Is active professionally
> and contributes to developments in the field of collection development.

> Qualifications
> Required: ALA-accredited MLS.  Minimum of five years relevant
> professional experience; significant experience in building academic
> collections; significant experience managing collections budgets and
> collections staff; solid knowledge of collection development issues,
> especially concerning the management and delivery of digital content.
> Demonstrated record of working with faculty and researchers to build
> collections; demonstrated management and supervisory skills; excellent
> oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.  Demonstrated
> record of professional involvement and contribution.
> 
> Salary: competitive and commensurate with experience.
> 
> Librarians have academic status without tenure or rank.  Benefits
> include:  26 days' vacation, 12 days sick leave; health insurance
