Judith Hare

Date: Friday, November 5, 1999
Time: 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

The "net generation" is enamoured with the Internet. So, will there be
libraries in the new millennium? What functions will they satisfy? What
roles will librarians/information professionals fulfill? In this lecture
Judith Hare, CEO of the Halifax Regional Library, will open the door on
the new century and comment on these questions. Prior to her appointment
as CEO of the Halifax Regional Library in September 1996, Ms. Hare was the
CEO of the Nepean and Markham Public Libraries in Ontario, and of the
Fraser Valley Regional Library in British Columbia. In 1993 she received
the Angus Mowat Award for Excellence in library innovation.
Lectures in the Friday Lecture Series offered by the School of Library and
Information Studies at Dalhousie is open to the public at no charge.
