If you, or someone you know, is starting or continuing a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies, needs financial assistance and is a Canadian citizen from the Atlantic Provinces please take note of the following:

 The Atlantic Provinces Library Association (APLA) administers the Carin Alma E. Somers Scholarship Trust that provides an annual scholarship of approximately $1000 to a student from the Atlantic Provinces who has either been accepted as a candidate for a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies or is continuing their studies towards that goal. The successful applicant will have been accepted in a School of Graduate Studies accredited by the American Library Association.

The award will be announced at the APLA Spring conference which is taking place in Fredericton, New Brunswick this year from June 6th to 9th, 2018.

The deadline for nominations is Saturday, March 31, 2018 and nominations are to be submitted to:
