Invitation to one-day Symposium: Right to Know: Balancing Access and Privacy, September 28, 2017



Please join us for a day of stimulating discussion and presentations in celebration of International Right to Know Week<http://www.oic-ci.gc.ca/rtk-dai-eng/>. This event is open to the public and is co-hosted by Dalhousie University Libraries and the School of Information Management; and, Library and Archives Canada.



It will take place on Thursday, September 28th, so save the date!



This day will feature a Keynote Address from Catherine Tully, Information and Privacy Commissioner for Nova Scotia, and a panel discussion on Managing Privacy in the 21st Century. It will showcase student research from the Dalhousie School of Information Management, as well as presentations on digital forensics and data management.



See attached proposed agenda. A more detailed agenda will be updated as speakers are confirmed.



The event is free. Space is limited. R.S .V.P. in advance to confirm your attendance. Please note there will be no web broadcasting of this event.


Presentations will be in English only and questions in either language will be facilitated. PowerPoints will be made available in English and French.

Venez participer à une journée de discussions et de présentations stimulantes à l’occasion de la Semaine du droit à l’information<http://www.oic-ci.gc.ca/rtk-dai-fra/> .
Cet événement, ouvert au public, est organisé conjointement par les bibliothèques et l’École de gestion de l’information de l’Université
Dalhousie, et Bibliothèque et Archives Canada.

Il se tiendra le jeudi 28 septembre; notez bien la date!

Le programme de la journée comprendra en matinée une conférence de Catherine Tully, Commissaire à l’information et à la protection de la vie privée de Nouvelle-Écosse, et un panel sur la gestion de la protection de la vie privée au 21e siècle. Des étudiants de l’École de gestion de l’information de l’Université Dalhousie présenteront les conclusions de leur recherche; cet exposé sera suivi de présentations sur la criminalistique numérique et la gestion des données.

Voyez ci-joint l’ordre du jour. Un ordre du jour plus détaillé sera envoyé à mesure que les conférenciers confirmeront
leur présence.

L’événement est gratuit, mais le nombre de places est limité. Veuillez confirmer votre présence à l’avance. Notez bien qu’il n’y aura pas de diffusion de l’événement sur le Web.

Les présentations seront en anglais seulement, mais les questions seront répondu dans les deux langues.
