“The Evolution of Latin Typefaces”

This presentation traces the period from Gutenberg to Garamond. It covers the transformation of our alphabet from Blackletter to Roman as well as the development of our lowercase and italic letter forms. The characteristics of each typeface are examined with examples showing how they can be identified. The talk open to the public at no charge, with honorarium sponsorship by NSCAD and Registered Graphic Designers and the venue provided by NSCC.
