Subject: National Reading Campaign
We're writing to let you know that Sarah Cooper has resigned from her job as Director of The National Reading Campaign and will be leaving in the next few months. As a result, we're undertaking a search for an Executive Director for the organization.
Sarah has taken the organization from its early development through some crucial stages of growth and we thank her with all our hearts for her dedication and commitment to help us get through this birthing stage. Now the NRC is growing so rapidly that we can hardly believe it. Not only are our ongoing projects in the works, including our three year Aboriginal initiative, we have achieved major funding and commitments of free time for our What did you read? public campaign this past Fall. Our powerful, bilingual website is in process as well. All this activity requires that we grow our capacity in French and in English. As you will see from the attached job description, we are looking for a bilingual Executive Director who will successfully lead us through the next phase of our campaign, starting with the launch of our new website in the Fall. Please help us to find the right candidate by circulating this job description within your organization as soon as possible.
Again, we want to stress how grateful we are to Sarah for all she has done for the NRC, and wish her all the best for her future plans.
Patsy Aldana, Chair
Rick Wilks, Vice Chair
