Bill C-11 Receives Royal Assent<http://www.michaelgeist.ca/content/view/6571/125/>
Bill C-11, the copyright reform bill, passed third reading at the Senate and received royal assent<http://news.gc.ca/web/article-eng.do?nid=683909> today (June 29). The bill is now S.C. 2012, c.20<http://www.parl.gc.ca/HousePublications/Publication.aspx?Docid=5686009&file=4>. The reforms do not take effect yet, however. The bill must go through an order-in-council process with a series of new regulations first, a process that is likely to take several months.
