Greetings!
On December 17th, two new courses have been approved by the University of the Fraser Valley for library technician diploma recipients. One, LIBT 383: Diversity in the Workplace will be offered Feb 4th over 8 weeks. This will be the third addition to the Library Post-Diploma program. This program, under final approval January 21, 2011, will consist of five courses with more to be added, in future.
Currently, the course offerings include:
LIBT 380: Emergent Library Technologies
LIBT 381: Leadership for Library Techncians
LIBT 382: Promotional Planning for Library Technicians
LIBT 383: Diversity in the Workplace
LIBT 385: Information Rights: Privacy and Freedom
All of these courses are worth 2 academic credits at UFV and span 8 weeks online. Diversity in the Workplace will not only examine various aspects of diveristy but it will also look at group identity, stereotyping, dominant groups, and conflict management.
