Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to share with you (attached in PDF format) the statement of
principles guiding limitations and exceptions for libraries that the library
organizations, such as IFLA, are issuing at WIPO in Geneva  today.  This was
brought to the Copyright Working Group's attention by Paul Whitney of Vancouver
City Library. It is the CLA Working Group's wish to put together a similar
document from a Canadian perspective.

The agenda for the CLA Copyright Working Group's meeting in Montreal on May 30
follows in a separate message.
