Halifax Library Association Annual General Meeting
HLA invites current and potential members to join us for the Annual General
Meeting on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place in the
Archives, third floor, Patrick Power Library, Saint Mary's University. (Please
note: The old library entrance is no longer accessible during construction of
the Atrium; a new, temporary entrance is situated on the east side of the
building, facing the quad. See map:

Light refreshments will be served and new and renewing members will be eligible
for prizes!

The Halifax Library Association exists to:
•promote libraries and their services, and to encourage more extensive
cooperation and interdependence among libraries in the geographic area of
Halifax Regional Municipality.
•cooperate with other associations on matters of mutual concern.
•serve the professional interests of library workers in the area.
The Halifax Library Association represents and welcomes all library workers.
Membership fees:
• Students - $5.00
• Personal members- $10.00
HLA offers several programs each year that include workshops and demonstrations,
library tours and social events. Most of the programs are free to HLA members
or have a small fee to cover associated costs.
