Subject: FW: BCLA leadership program in balmy Victoria - Feb 5/6
Hi all; Happy New Year!
if you think there might be any interest among your members in this
program, would you mind forwarding on to your lists?
Tired of snow and slush? Wouldn't a couple of days in temperate Victoria
be a welcome respite in early February?
Lynne Jordon, BCLA President, invites you to participate in the second
President's Program, Being An Effective Leader, to be held at the Inn at
Laurel Point, Victoria, on February 5 & 6th, 2009. Ken Roberts, current
CLA President and Chief Librarian of the Hamilton Public Library, and
Daphne Wood, Manager of Communications and Community Development,
Hamilton Public Library, will lead a fun, interactive, full-day workshop
for leaders, aspiring leaders and anyone wanting to spend two days in
very pleasant surroundings, with congenial companions.
Registration fees: Only $200 for BCLA members & $220 for others!
Registration includes all this! Thursday, Feb. 5: Welcome reception:
5:30 - 7:00 pm (no-host bar); Friday, Feb. 6: Workshop: 9:00 am - 5:00
pm (including two coffee breaks and lunch); Dinner: 6:00 - 10:00 pm (Ken
Roberts will be the dinner speaker).
The Inn at Laurel Point is a boutique hotel on the Harbour in downtown
Victoria. Every room has a water view and a balcony, and the Inn has
excellent food, lovely grounds and public spaces. The Inn is offering
attendees of the workshop a preferred rate of $125/night February 5/6.
Please call 1-800-663-7667 to book and mention you are attending the
BCLA President's Program.
This workshop will help you better understand your leadership abilities
and realize how your capabilities help create a more effective and
enjoyable workplace, regardless of your position in your organization.
Full details are included in the Word attachment, and at the
