J'aimerais souligner et remercier Chantale Bellemare pour son travail
en tant que représentante du groupe d'intérêt francophone et souhaiter
la bienvenue à Jean-François Savaria dans son nouveau rôle de
représentant de ce groupe. Jean-François Savaria est le
bibliothécaire responsable des services en français pour le service
des bibliothèques publiques de l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard et supervise les
bibliothèques publiques d'Abram-Village, J.-Henri-Blanchard et
Dr.-J.-Edmond-Arsenault.
La raison d'être du groupe d'intérêt francophone est de fournir un
espace pour la discussion de divers sujets parmis les membres
francophones de l'association des bibliothèques des provinces de
l'Atlantique. Les objectifs du groupe sont:
-d'établir et de maintenir une communication entre les membres
francophone d'APLA.
-promouvoir la langue française dans les bibliothèques des
provinces de l'Atlantique.
-aider les membres francophones dans l'organisation d'ateliers et
autres activités.
-participer à l'organisation d'ateliers en français lors des
conférences annuelles d'APLA.
-favoriser l'échange d'information avec d'autres associations
francophones de bibliothèques.

I'd like acknowledge and thank Chantale Bellemare for her work as
convenor of the Francophone Interest Group and welcome Jean-François
Savaria as the new convenor of this group. Jean-François Savaria is the
French Services Librarian for the Provincal Library Services of Prince
Edward Island and is the manager of the Abrams Village,
J.-Henri-Blanchard and Dr.-J.-Edmond-Arsenault Public Libraries.
The purpose of the Francophone Interest Group is to provide a forum for
the discussion of issues among francophone members of the Atlantic
Provinces Library Association. The interest group's goals are:
- to establish and maintain communications between francophone
members of APLA.
- to promote the French language in Atlantic provinces libraries.
- to help francophone members in organizing workshops or other
activities.
- to participate in the organization of workshops in French at the
APLA Annual Conference.
- to exchange information with other francophone library
associations.
