Subject: infodep Reminder, with thanks: The DSP needs YOU!
--------- Cross Posted with Apologies --------------------
Many, many thanks to everyone who submitted feedback on the Depository
Services Program. Although the requested deadline has passed, I
encourage those of you who have not responded to take a few moments to
send in your comments. The DSP relies on input to ensure this service
remains viable.
E-mail originally posted:
The Depository Services Program (DSP) is currently undergoing a program
evaluation and would appreciate tangible evidence that the service they
provide is beneficial and is being used.
Established in 1927, the Depository Services Program or DSP , exists to
ensure Canadians "have ready and equal access to federal government
information by supplying these materials to a network of more than 790
libraries in Canada and to another 147 institutions around the world."

Among some of the publications the DSP makes available available are:
Foreign Affairs Treaty Series
The Canadian Independent Music Industry: An Examination of Distribution
and Access National Research Council Press Journals such as Biochemistry
and Cell Biology, Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences and
Environmental Reviews.
The Depository Services Program (DSP) is interested in receiving
feedback that the materials it makes available to depository libraries
are useful and are being used. If you use DSP material in library
tutorials, if you provide access to DSP materials to the general public,
if you use it in your own research or if your colleagues are using it,
they would like to hear from you. The information can be statistical
(how many times has the Market Research Handbook has been used in your
library in the last 6 month period, for example) or anecdotal (I
couldn't teach my class without Juristat). In addition, the DSP would be
interested in learning more about who may be using the material and how
they've benefited from having access to it.
Please forward any comments, questions and suggestions by September 15th
(if possible!) to
Gay Lepkey, Manager, Depository Services Program,

Services Program, [log in to unmask]
This is a busy time for many of us but a few minutes of our time now
will certainly go a long way to help ensure this valuable service is
maintained. Please feel free to forward this e-mail.
Thanks,
Carla
