It is with great regret that I inform you that the third Eastern Horizons 
conference "Navigating Diversity in Canadian Children's Literature" set for 
October 12-14 in St. John's, has been cancelled.  Our pre-registration 
figures were sufficiently low that the Planning Committee determined the 
conference would not be financially feasible.  For more information, you may

We would like to thank APLA for its support, including but not exclusive to 
the pledging of financial support under the General Activities Fund for all 
three conferences.  (The cheque for the cancelled conference will be
