Nova Scotia Community College is at a pivotal time in our history. The College has launched a comprehensive development plan made possible by a landmark investment from the Province of Nova Scotia. As a result, our campuses have experienced some dramatic changes. Vibrant new learning spaces are already filled with NSCC students enjoying the enhanced facilities - and more excitement is coming as major construction projects head toward the finish line. In addition to renovating and/or expanding several sites, NSCC, already recognized as Canada's Portfolio College, is implementing an innovative learning-centred model.
OUR OPPORTUNITY: You are accountable for the day-to-day operation of the Campus Library, under the general direction and supervision of the Campus or Regional Librarian. You will provide reference services and assistance to users in finding items, using the online catalogue or using library resources, including electronic databases. YOUR CREDENTIALS: You possess a diploma in Library and Information Technology, combined with a minimum of one year experience in providing public service in a library environment, or the recognized equivalencies. You are proficient in Internet searching and possess a significant level of computer literacy. You thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment and possess exceptional client skills. You are a creative self-starter with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. Experience with the Aleph integrated library system (ILS) would be an asset.
