librarians out there who may also have small archival records within
their collection.

The notice below is about the CNSA upcoming conference. It is open to
nonmembers for the same price as members. Please contact Karen or the

Dear CNSA-L members:

You are invited to attend the annual CNSA Spring Conference taking place
May 24, 25 and 26, 2006 at the Public Archives of Nova Scotia in
Halifax.  Join your archival colleagues for 3 days of learning,
discussion and fun in their newly renovated meeting rooms.

Registration forms, full session descriptions, and travel information is
being sent by surface mail to all members.  This information is also
available on the CNSA website

Highlights:

There will be sessions on the new federal funding program for
archives:
National Archival Development Program (NADP), the planned Heritage
Website Portal, and how to promote archives to politicians.  We'll have
discussions about the Heritage Strategy interim report and a
show-and-tell session of each other's digital projects.

The pre-conference workshop on May 24 will look at best practices for
organizing your electronic files and for caring for your computer equipment.

The Annual General Meeting will be on May 25 over lunch catered by
Certainly Cinnamon.

This year's Awards Banquet will be at The Citadel national historic site
followed by a Ghost Walk tour of the Citadel at night.

A Vendor's Hall will be set up for your archival shopping convenience on
May 25 and 26.

Registration is open to all.  The cost is:

$65 for one day
$115 for two days (May 25 & 26)
$65 for pre-conference workshop (May 24)
$30 for morning of May 25

$35 for Banquet
$5 for Ghost Walk

Please let us know your intention to attend by May 1.  This will help in
planning refreshment breaks and meals.  Send your form and payment to:
