Dear All,
My thanks to Toby and all who are responding.
My work on conscientious refusals of care is more policy oriented and
doesn't address religion directly, so it may not be a fit for panel 2. It is
more rights oriented and seems a better fit with panel 1 but is not global
focus (US). Though I would love to be involved, if this bears on the
coherence of the panels being formed, I will step out.
Cheers,
Robin

Subject: Panel reorganization
Friends,
Per Rosie's suggestion, here is a proposed reordering of panels. I
have
*starred* the person's name who has expressed willingness/interest in
leading this group, or who hasn't expressed an UNWILLINGNESS to do so
(which, for our purposes, means writing up the abstract and
circulating it
to panel members for their approval).
One final note: While you may submit your candidacy for more than one
panel, if they both get accepted you will have to choose, as ASBH has
a new
rule that individuals can only present once per conference. This is a
special concern for panel 1, as 2/3 of the members listed have their
names
in for other panels as well.

unfocused...]

(b) Arleen Salles
(c) Carolyn McLeod -- conscientious objection by health care
providers
(d) *?Robin Fiore*? -- same topic as Carolyn
(e) Toby Schonfeld -- Jewish bioethics and feminism
(3) Justice and Caring in Global Context

(b) *? Helene Starks *?
(c) Zahra Megahani
(d) Rosie Tong

(4) Parenting
(a) Mary Mahowald -- embryo adoption
(b) *Marin Gillis* -- ova donation
(c) Leslie Bender -- legal misunderstandings of biological
motherhood
