It's that time of year to start thinking about the APLA Memorial Award!
This year's award committee would like to help fund your research project or professional development opportunity! We invite all members to submit an application, and welcome submissions from all previous applicants and winners to date. Up to $1,000 will be awarded.
Applications should demonstrate how your idea will contribute to the development of your career and at the same time benefit the library profession. Examples of recently funded APLA Memorial Award projects include:
-Studying school housed libraries in Newfoundland and Labrador
-Investigating electronic resource management in academic teaching and research environments
-Exploring the attitudes and teaching methods of academic instruction librarians in the Atlantic region
-Surveying the continuing education needs and practices of library workers
-Researching the history of literary awards in Canada
-Participating in the Library of Congress Serials Cataloguing Cooperative Training Program
Interested applicants should send (preferably by email) a letter outlining your proposal, a current curriculum vitae, and estimated costs of your project by March 15, 2006 to:
