*WILU 2005: A Kaleidoscope of possibilities
*May 18 - 20, 2005
University of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario
This year's program will challenge participants to reflect on the
placement of information literacy in the broader context of other forms of
literacy. Join us to explore a broad range of the theories and practices
of the many faces of literacy: reading and writing, computer, information,
media, visual, statistical and academic literacy. What role do libraries
and librarians play in addressing, promoting, and collaborating with
partners to advance these forms of literacy? This year's conference is
offering an exciting new format!
WILU 2005 will include an added *half-day of workshops for all
participants*! On Wednesday afternoon, May 18, we will offer a choice of
hands on workshops. Details are available on our website
(www.lib.uoguelph.ca/wilu).
The registration fee is $290 CDN (approximately $234 USD) which includes
· one/ /of the four Wednesday workshops
· a full day of sessions on Thursday
· Friday morning sessions
· opening and closing plenaries
· Wednesday evening banquet
· Continental breakfasts on Thursday and Friday
· Lunch on Thursday and Friday
· All coffee breaks
We are pleased to announce that our keynote speakers are Sheila Webber and
Bill Johnston. Check out their work at Bill and Sheila's Information
Literacy Place (http://dis.shef.ac.uk/literacy).
