COLLEGE OF DUPAGE TELECONFERENCE ON "REFERENCE TOOLS FOR THE
INFORMATION AGE: CONSUMER MEDICAL RESOURCES"
The Nova Scotia Provincial Library will host another satellite
teleconference in the College of DuPage's Soaring to Excellence 2005
series on March 11th. This teleconference is on the topic "Reference
Tools for the Information Age: Consumer Medical Resources". The
speakers will be Debra Kakuk, currently a reference librarian at the
College of DuPage Library where her duties include supporting the
Health
Sciences Division; Michelle Kraft, Head Medical Librarian, South
Pointe
Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio; and Kelly Watson, Adult Services Librarian,
Bensenville Community Public Library, Bensenville, Illinois. They
will
discuss the reference interview, the best consumer medical reference
tools available, both in print and online and other issues related to
providing consumer medical information.
Following the broadcast portion of the program, Joyline Makani,
Management and Economics Librarian at the Killam Library, Dalhousie
University will speak about the NOVANET chat reference service which
began in the fall of 2004.
