The Nova Scotia Provincial Library will host Part 2 of Library
Marketing That Works, an audio conference from The Education Institute:
The learning programs of the APLA-BCLA-LAA-NSLA-OLA-SLA Partnership on
April 13th. The instructor is Suzanne Walters, Director of Marketing
and Development for the Denver Public Library. In Part 2 she will focus
on market research and address such questions as:
What is market research?
How do we apply it in our library?
What is the difference between quantitative and qualitative market
research?
What is primary and secondary market research?
When do we use focus groups?
When are surveys effective?
What simple things can we do to obtain the information we need?
How do we obtain assistance in acquiring the market research we need?
What is data-base mining and how do we do it?
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE
This is for anyone who wants to understand marketing concepts, who is
concerned about the support of their library within a community. Library
administrators, Board members, and senior librarians concerned with the
health and strength of their library should consider participating.
METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
Audio teleconference session supported by a handout. The session will
also include a question and answer period to give advice and clarify the
learning experience.
