Travel Information
The 5th Feminist Approaches to Bioethics World Congress is held at the
University of New South Wales in Kensington, which is approximately 7
kilometres (approx. 4.4 miles) from the centre of Sydney. Transport to
and from the University is plentiful. We have provided some information
here (all prices in Australian dollars). Further information, including
campus and bus route maps, can be downloaded from the university web
site at:
http://notessrv.chan.unsw.edu.au/Faciliti.nsf/pages/Transport
We recommend that you book your accommodation prior to your arrival in
Australia and confirm all your travel details with your local booking
agent.
Once you reach the university, look out for the FAB Congress signs that
will point you to the registration and information desk at the back
counter of the Sir John Clancy Auditorium.
We look forward to welcoming you to Sydney!
Getting To and From the Congress
A taxi from Sydney airport to Coogee or Randwick costs approximately
$25 depending on your destination. Some taxis accept payment by credit
card however this is not the norm and it is best to check with the
driver first. Some of the key hotels for conference attendees are
listed below with approximate times and fares from Sydney airport.
Coogee Bay Hotel: 10 minutes approximately $12
Crown Plaza Hotel: 20 minutes approximately $22
Medina Apartments: 10 minutes approximately $12
A cheaper, but still reliable option, is to take a bus. A bus runs
directly from the airport to the University every 20 minutes, 7 days a
week. This trip takes approximately 30 minutes and costs approximately
$4. Bus timetables (including suggested bus routes to various local
hotels) can be downloaded from the Congress web page at:
http://www.bioethicsworldcongress.com/travel.asp
Trains also run from the airport to Central station in Sydney. This
trip takes about 15 minutes and costs approximately $12. Train
information can be found at: http://www.cityrail.info/ Buses and trains
run from central station to the University of NSW on a regular basis.

conference. Day parking works using a paid metre system and is
available in the Barker St and Botany St Parking Stations.
