Hi Everyone - I was asked to help publicize Terry Kelly's production that
is touring the East Coast this November. You may know Terry as a
performer but he is also an active library supporter and member of the CNIB
Library Board. I saw the show last year in Ottawa and it is very good and
thought provoking.
Regards, Jane
"Two Minutes of Silence - A Pittance of Time"
featuring
Terry Kelly
accompanied by musicians Floyd King & Trevor Mills and actors Sara Tilley
& Brad Hodder
Touring the East Coast this November
"Two Minutes of Silence - A Pittance of Time" combines music and theatre in
an emotional production that looks at the folly of war. The inspirational
songs and dramatic monologues evoke memories tinged with sadness and joy
that ultimately underscore the need for hope, and faith in the goodness of
mankind.
A relationship - set in World War One - unfolds as a young Canadian soldier
fighting in the trenches attempts to bring some sanity to his horrific
situation by corresponding with his new bride at home.
“Lest We Forget”
Singer/songwriter Terry Kelly features many of his own compositions such as
"In My Father's House", "Moment To Moment", "We Can Do Anything", "Safe
Home", "A Pittance of Time" (and more) plus a few familiar songs from war
times – “Pack Up Your Troubles”, “It’s a Long Way to Tipperary”, “Over
There”, “Oh How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning”, the “Whiffenpoof Song” …
The script for this musical drama, written by John Meir and Sandy Mackay,
was inspired by Terry Kelly's song "A Pittance of Time"
<http://www.terry-kelly.com/pittance.htm>(song & story behind it). The
musical drama is a self-contained production with three musicians and two
actors who portray the lives of a newlywed couple separated by war.
"Two Minutes of Silence - A Pittance of Time" premiered to standing
ovations last year in Halifax and Ottawa.
