REVISED
Saint Mary's University - Patrick Power Library seeks an Information
Literacy Librarian to fill a full-time, permanent position. The position
reports to the University Librarian, within a collegial working
environment.
Working collaboratively with other librarians and faculty, this position
has responsibility to plan, develop, implement and assess the
instructional services program of the Patrick Power Library, within the
context of the academic mission of Saint Mary's University. The
successful candidate will provide information literacy instruction and
support to the University community; coordinate library teaching
assignments; liaise with communities of interest; monitor trends and
best practices relevant to information literacy, and communicate
information about these trends and practices among the Saint Mary's
University academic staff. Additional responsibilities will include
reference service and departmental collection development liaison.
The successful candidate must possess a Master's degree from an
ALA-accredited program of library or information science, with three (3)
years’ successful, relevant experience and evidence of professional
development.
Also required are a working knowledge of computer and Web-based
applications in reference, information literacy and instructional
technology; demonstrated teaching skills; strong communication and
interpersonal skills; desktop publishing and Web-authoring abilities.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to work
cooperatively to provide quality service.
Appointment is expected to be at the rank of Librarian II.
