New Brunswick Public Library Service is searching for a dynamic professional
librarian with demonstrated enthusiasm for the mission of public libraries,
to serve as Public Services Librarian for the Chaleur Library Region with
offices in Campbellton.

Duties: Reporting to the Regional Director and working out of the regional
office, the Public Services Librarian is part of the regional management
team and plays a key role in the following areas: regional planning;
development and coordination of staff training; promotion, marketing, public
and community relations; development and coordination of programs; and
support to libraries.

The Public Services Librarian is responsible for: coaching and training
staff in the delivery and promotion of quality public library service;
assisting in identifying and meeting training needs; developing and
coordinating staff development initiatives; developing and implementing
regional programs; participating in the development of and assuring regional
participation in provincial programs; assisting in identifying library
programming needs; ensuring the evaluation of programs and services;
participating in provincial and regional committees; coaching staff in media
and community relations; promoting public libraries and their services by
engaging in public and media relations; developing regional promotional
materials such as pamphlets; marketing library programs and services;
establishing relationships with community groups and potential partners;
attending Library Manager meetings and Regional Forum meetings as required;
making presentations; conducting research and preparing reports; overseeing
grant applications and their management as required; and assuming other
duties as assigned.

Qualifications: We are searching for a team leader with a demonstrated sense
of organization coupled with problem solving and analytical skills. A
master's degree in Library and/or Information Science from an ALA accredited
school is necessary. At least two (2) years of professional experience is
required. Written and spoken competence in French is required.

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication
skills. He or she must also have a strong knowledge of library automation
software, reference service, the Internet and electronic reference tools, as
well as library programming. This position involves travel, and a valid
driver's license is required.

Le Service des bibliothèques publiques du Nouveau-Brunswick cherche un
bibliothécaire professionnel ou une bibliothécaire professionnelle dynamique
et enthousiaste envers la mission des bibliothèques publiques pour combler
le poste de bibliothécaire des services publics à la Région de bibliothèques
Chaleur à Campbellton.

Fonctions : Relevant de la directrice régionale et travaillant au bureau
régional, le ou la bibliothécaire des services publics fait partie de
l'équipe régionale de gestion et joue un rôle clé dans les secteurs suivants
: la planification régionale; le développement, la coordination et la
prestation d'activités de formation pour le personnel; la promotion, le
marketing ainsi que les relations publiques et communautaires; l'élaboration
et la coordination de programmes (activités d'animation et autres); et le
soutien aux bibliothèques.

Les responsabilités consistent entre autres à donner de l'encadrement et de
la formation au personnel des bibliothèques en ce qui a trait à la
prestation et à la promotion de services de bibliothèque publique de
qualité; participer à la détermination des besoins de formation et à la
prestation d'activités de formation adaptée; élaborer et coordonner des
activités de perfectionnement professionnel; élaborer et mettre en oeuvre
des programmes (activités d'animation et autres) régionaux; participer à
l'élaboration de programmes provinciaux et assurer une participation
régionale; participer à la détermination des besoins en matière de
programmes; évaluer des programmes et services; participer à des comités
régionaux et provinciaux; donner de la formation sur les relations médias et
les relations communautaires; promouvoir les bibliothèques et leurs services
en menant des activités de relations publiques et médiatiques; élaborer du
matériel promotionnel régional tels que des dépliants; assurer le marketing
de programmes et services; établir des relations avec les groupes
communautaires et les partenaires potentiels; participer aux réunions des
gestionnaires de bibliothèque et du forum régional selon les besoins; faire
des présentations; mener des recherches et rédiger des rapports; coordonner
la présentation et la gestion de demandes de subventions selon les besoins;
et accomplir les autres tâches qui lui sont confiées.

Conditions de candidature : La personne recherchée fait preuve de leadership
et possède un excellent sens de l'organisation, de même que des aptitudes
pour la résolution de problèmes et l'analyse. Elle possède une maîtrise en
bibliothéconomie et/ou en sciences de l'information d'une école accréditée
par l'ALA ainsi qu'au moins deux (2) années d'expérience professionnelle. La
connaissance du français, à l'oral et à l'écrit, est essentielle.

Elle possède d'excellentes aptitudes pour les relations interpersonnelles et
la communication. Elle doit avoir également une très bonne connaissance des
logiciels utilisés par les bibliothèques, des services de référence, des
outils Internet et électroniques de référence ainsi que de la programmation
d'activités d'animation. Ce poste nécessite des déplacements et un permis de
conduire valide est requis.
