Keynote speaker
Michael Cart, Author, lecturer, critic, and consultant. He is the
Grolier Award-winning author of eleven books and the founding editor
of Rush Hour, a literary journal for readers aged 16 to 22. Former
Director of the Beverly Hills (CA) Public Library and a Past President
of the Young Adult Library Services Association, Michael appointed and
chaired the task force that created the prestigious Michael L. Printz

Award. A recognized expert in young adult library services and young
adult literature, which he teaches at UCLA, Michael is a Booklist
columnist and reviewer and currently serves as President of ALAN (the
Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of the National Council of
Teachers of English).
