The Provincial Library has registered for the College of DuPage
reference teleconference series for the third year in a row. This
year's series is titled "Realities of Digital Reference: Challenges,
Tools and Opportunities". The first teleconference, "New Tools for
Enhancing Digital Reference" will be on Friday, Feb. 6th and the second
teleconference "Joe Janes and Colleagues: Preparing for the Future of
Digital Reference" will be held on Friday, April 16th. I will be
sending out a registration announcement for the first session shortly.
Meanwhile, I would like to invite anyone who is interested to let me
know if you would like to take part in a session to share information on
developments in reference in your library at the end of the first
broadcast on Feb. 6th. There has been a lot of interest in these
teleconferences and last year there was some local participation at the
end of each of the broadcasts which added greatly to the sessions.
How are you using the Internet to enhance reference service, what
reference tools are you using, what are your experiences with e-mail
reference? Please contact me if you would like to share information on
these and other reference developments.

Opportunities" teleconferences are available at
